Battlefield 1942 News
By jared
We're still working on issues that our beta testers have found with the Battlefield 1942 plugin. Many of these issues appear to be related to bad data given to the plugin by the server, but we are working to get around those issues.

Battlefield 1942
By jared
A lot of people have asked us where our Battlefield 1942 plugin is. Well, we are nearing completion of development. We've had a lot more work on this plugin that we would have normally expected. Look for the release in the next few days.

UT2003, America's Army, and TacticalOps
By jared
We've released new game plugins for Unreal Tournament 2003, America's Army, and Tactical Ops. Yes, its half an hour till midnight mountain time, but we still got them out in time -- I don't care what the date stamp on this news release says. That reminds me that I need to change the cgi to time stamp based on mountain and not eastern time since Deep Fried has been in Denver for a couple of years now. Anyway, enjoy the new games.

Plugin Work
By jared
Today's plugin work is going very well. I've finally finished the complete rewrite of our gamespy protocol code. This is a particularly interesting task due to the number of servers that don't quite implement it correctly. Speaking of games not implementing the gamespy protocol correctly, Battlefield 1942 is probably not going to be released today, even though I had planned it. They have done such a poor job of packing their player data (they do it backwards) that I am going to have to write a special parser for it. It won't be especially difficult, but I would rather get the others out today than worry too much about the one.

Not only will there be a number of new plugins released today, I've fixed some ugly bugs in Medal of Honor and Global Operations plugins by handling some of the oddities in their gamespy protocol implementations. So, when these are released, the players should show up in the lists more accurately.

Keep watching the news and plugins page for todays plugin releases.

As many of you probably know, Unreal Tournament 2003 was released last night. You can monitor it with Server Watch using the Unreal Tournament plugin and port 7787. We will be releasing the plugin for it on Sunday.
